It has come to my attention that in order to be a truly well rounded woman, or perhaps an up and coming woman in this day and age you need to blog. Since I do not want to be one of those women that is stuck in the decade in which she graduated from high school, I guess I shall submit to the all new form of peer pressure for my age and blog!
So I close my eyes and take the leap into the world of bloggers. One of the foremost questions on my mind is, "why?" Why do we blog? Why would anyone, in this age of insanely busy schedules, want to take or even have the time to read what I or anyone else for that matter would have to say?
Maybe its not the exact content of our blogs but rather the fact that this era of amazingly quick communication is absolutely irresistible; we blog, we instant message, we text, we email, we facebook because we can! If there is anything I cannot resist it is a chance to "talk" with my family and friends everyday, sometimes several times a day.
As a child one of the daily excitements was when the mail arrived and we could look for a letter from a loved one in the mailbox. Now we can check for that craved letter and relive that excitement in many forms, many times a day. What better way for my ever curious mind to know how everyone is doing than to check the many outlets available to find out and hear the latest news. If someone I know is having problems, sickness, or personal challenges then I can send notes of encouragement on a steady basis as well as find out how they are.
Add the many facets of communication to the fact that we are all searching for answers to so many ever growing worries, fears and problems in the world and we are turning to one another more and more to "talk" it out. So, here I am, unsure of what to say, but ready to close my eyes and take the leap into the world of blogs.
